September Events

I was glad to see so many of you at the meeting Tuesday. I can't wait for our next cruise night. I will start our first monthly Rollin' Relics Car of the Month, where I'll feature one lucky Rollin' Relic and their beloved ride right here on the website. We'll have lots of pictures and a short history of both the owner and machine. For this month's ride, I will chose at random at the September cruise night. If you'd like your car featured here, make sure and come. We've also got a few other events coming up soon:

• Saturday, August 30th: hot August Nights show in Visalia from 10:00AM to 3:00PM, Click on the poster below the calendar for more information
• Monday, September 1st: labor Day Holiday
• Friday, September 5th: the Rollin' Relics Cruise Night at the Pizza Factory
• Saturday, September 6th: the Monte Vista School Car Show at the Monte Vista School on Westfield Avenue in Porterville (more information coming soon)
• Saturday, September 6th: the Teen Challenge Show in Shafter

Meeting Tomorrow

Hi everyone. Don't forget we have a club meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, August 26th. The meeting will be held at the Santa Fe Depot, not the Pizza Factory at the usual time of 6:00PM. We have some information from the Poker Run committee about the Rollin' Relics Annual Poker Run. Here is the flyer for the event; just click on the poster to enlarge it, and print it out. Feel free to distribute it to others and local businesses.



One other event for August is the Screaming Eagles Car Show at the Visalia Military Academy. Call (559) 936-4754 for more details. I'll have an update after the meeting to discuss September club events. Hope to see you tomorrow.

Tulare and Tehachapi Car Show Photos

How's everyone doing? I was lucky enough to get a few emails from Gary Coffer that included some photos of Rollin' Relics at the Tulare Downtown Car Show, and the Tehachapi "Thunder on the Mountain" Car Show. Thanks for the pics Gary. I hope you all enjoy them. I've also got a little piece of news from Tim Day:

• Monte Vista Grizzlies First Annual Car & Motorcycle Show is September 6th, 9am to 3pm. Monte Vista School, 701 W. Westfield Avenue, Porterville. Trophies, Goodie Bags, Book Faire, Food and Drinks Available. Pre-register $25, Deadline for pre-register discount is August 25th. Day of the show $30. All proceeds to benefit THE MONTE VISTA PLAYGROUND PROJECT.
• Next Poker Run committee meeting is Wednesday, August 20th, 6pm at the Pizza Factory. Dennis Shaffer and myself will Co-chair the event. All interested members willing to help with organizing the event are encouraged to attend. The committee will meet weekly until the event planning is complete.
• "Tularecountytalkchannel.com" with Johnny B has the Wedding at Aerodogs of Fred and Judy, plus a couple of members cars. Check it out.

Weekend Events

Ready for the weekend? Here are a couple of events coming up to give you something to do:

• Saturday August 16th: the A&W Cruise Night
• Saturday August 16th: the Atascadero Lake Show in Atascadero, CA. Call Kevin for more details at: (805) 440-2141
• Sunday August 17th: the "Thunder on the Mountain" show at Tehachapi from 9:00AM to 3:00PM
• Friday August 22nd through Sunday August 24th: the Goodguys Westcoast Nationals in Pleasanton, CA. Go to the Goodguys site here for more information.
• Tuesday August 26th: the Rollin' Relics monthly meeting will be held at the Santa Fe Depot, not the Pizza Factory.
  

Hot Summer Daze Car Show

Hi everyone. It was great to see so many of you out at the Hot Summer Daze Car Show today. The Rollin' Relics had a really good turnout, and the weather was great. I've got a few photos of the festivities below. I've also got an update for some September events to keep in mind.

• The Monte Vista School Car Show in Porterville to raise funds for new playground equipment (I'll give an update of the date and time soon).
• September 20th: the Rollin' Relics Poker Cruise.
• September 21st: the Zion Lutheran Church in Terra Bella "Meet Your Neighbor" show and shine on September 21st from 2pm to 5pm.

August Events

Hi Guys. I know you've all been waiting for an update with the new August calender and club events. So here it is in case you missed the meeting or cruise night. Again, I'm sorry it took so long for me to update the blog.

If you can't tell, I've recently changed the look of the site. Like it? Feel free to leave comments. I've also added the Rollin' Relics Classified section, so if you're looking for a part or car, or trying to sell one, drop me a line at: blueomni87@yahoo.com. The classifieds are for Rollin' Relics Car Club members only.

There's lots of things to do this weekend in your car, so I'd like to highlight a few:

• Saturday August 9th: we'll be having our monthly breakfast run. This month we'll be going to Boss Hog's in Farmersville. Like every month, we'll meet at 7:30AM at the Porterville Trailer Center and cruise to breakfast.
• Saturday August 9th: head on down to Main Street for the Hot Summer Daze Show in Porterville from 11:00AM to 6:00PM.
• Saturday August 9th: the Central Valley Explosion will be held at the Visalia Convention Center.
• Wednesday August 13th: the club will have a Poker Run committee meeting at the Pizza Factory at 6:00PM. Anyone interested is welcome to come.
• I'll have more updates through September coming soon, so stay tuned...
  

Sorry it's been a while

Hi Rollin' Relics.  I'm glad I was able to see so many of you at last weeks meeting.  It was quite a break since we skipped the July cruise night.  Unfortunately I've been pretty under the weather lately, and wasn't able to get out to the August cruise night.  So no, I don't have any photos to show you.  If anyone out there has any photos of it that they want to share on the blog, feel free to e-mail them to me.  In a few days, I'll post the new calendar for August events.  Again, I'm sorry for the delay.  I'll also start working on the new Rn'R Blog Classifieds.  If club members want to buy or sell anything (car related only, of course), just e-mail me a description, and I'll post it online.  Hope to see you all at the breakfast run Saturday morning, Aug. 9th.
