I've got (2) 1957 Studebakers; one is a Commander sedan (2-door) & the other is a Provincial wagon. They've both been outside for awhile, so they're pretty rough, but would probably be good as misc. parts cars. They both have the original paint & bumpers; most of the original glass; a lot of the original trim is still there and in decent shape. My dad was holding on to both of them for no apparent reason; never seemed to have any interest in restoring them. Now my mom is looking to sell them to people who will get the best possible use out of them and make a little money at the same time.  We're not looking to get rich off of these cars, just a fair deal.  Would $500 apiece be considered a fair deal?

*IMPORTANT NOTE*: We don't want "pickers" coming in & buying a part here, a part there, and end up with two skeletonized hunks of rust sitting there 20 years from now. What we really need to do is simply sell these vehicles as-is & get them off my mom's property. While I don't know the exact as-is value of these vehicles, I do know they're worth considerably more as parts vehicles than they are for scrap. Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

December Meeting

On meeting for December is on Tuesday the 18th at 6 PM  upstairs at the Senior Center.  After the meeting dinner will be at Stan’s Restaurant on Mill Street.  This is a private party and Stan’s is opening up just for us.  Dinner will be prime rib at a cost of $10.95 each--beverage and dessert are included.  You must let John Dillion know if you are attending dinner so that Stan’s knows how many to plan for.

December Cruise Night

It was great to see everyone out at the Cruise Night tonight.  Lots of people donated toys to the Toys for the Tots Toy Drive, and we all got to see some beautiful cars.  Here are some photos that I took.  Enjoy.

Toys for Tots Donations at Rollin’ Relics Cruise Night

The Rollin’ Relics Car Club will collect toys for area children at their monthly cruise night Friday, December 7th. The community is invited to drop off unwrapped toys, for needy children at the Pizza Factory parking lot on the corner of Henderson and Porter Road between five and seven PM. The club has supported various organizations in the past years with their toy drives but this year the toys will go to Toys for Tots.  Porterville Toys for Tots Coordinator targets families in need, with input from schools. Without this toy drive, many of the local children would have a very limited Christmas. So we encourage the community to come out to support this toy drive. All types of unwrapped toys are welcome, but a stuffed animal will put a certain sparkle in the eye of a child. Cash donations to go towards the purchase of toys will also be accepted.

The club still invites the community to bring their classic, hot rod, custom car, finished or not to display at the “Show and Shine” Cruise Night. There is no fee for displaying your car, but it is encouraged to bring a donation toy. This will be the last cruise night before we go to our winter schedule, for the months of January & February. Each toy donation will qualify you for a special raffle drawing of two $50 prizes.  Must be present to win.

PDC Christmas Parade

Porterville Developmental Center Christmas Parade is on Tuesday December 4th.  The Parade is in need and requesting that the Relics participate in the Parade, if you are able to.  Please meet at 9:30 AM on the morning of the show.  Go in the front gate and turn left at the administration building to line up.

Questions can be directed to our Activities Chairman John Dillon.

Events Reminders

Rollin Relics regular Meeting night is November 27th at 6 PM Dinner is at Dennys on Montgomery after the meeting.

John will be selling raffle tickets at the meeting ($1 for one ticket- $5 for 6 tickets) WINNER takes ALL at the end of the meeting.

CHRISTMAS PARADE is this Thurs November 29th Line up at the old Gang Sues at 6pm. We are #55 in the parade schedule.

The Chamber is only allowing FOUR cars in the parade - This will be discussed at the meeting.

December 7th is CRUISE NITE at the Pizza Factory at 5 PM. This is Toys for Tots collection night - See following flyer information

Veterans Day Parades

We’ve got two great Veterans Day Parades to be part of this year.

Saturday, November 10th, will see the Veterans Day Parade in Tulare.  Those interested should meet at 7:30 AM on Spruce Street and Highway 65 at the Chevron Gas Station.

Monday, November 12th, will see the Veterans Day Parade in Porterville.  Line up before 8:00 AM for judging at School and Main Street at the old Bay’s Chili Dogs, and come in on Second Street.

October Meeting

This is just a quick reminder that the Rollin’ Relics’ October Meeting will be held tomorrow, October 30th, at 6:00PM.  The dinner after the meeting will be at El Nuevo Mexican Restaurant on Prospect.  I hope to see you there.

Weekend Events (October 19th–21st)

We have some great events coming up this weekend.

• The NHRA Hot Rod Reunion will be at the Famosa Raceway from October 19th through the 20th. 
• The Exeter A&W Cruise night will be held on October 19th, and the Visalia A&W (on Willis Avenue near downtown Visalia) will be held on the 20th. 
• Of course I’ve save the best for last; the Rollin Relics Annual Poker Run will be held on Saturday October 20th.  Registration will begin at 8:00AM and end at 9:30AM at the Porterville Airport.  The “run” will be about 100 miles and end by 1:30PM.

Exeter Fall Festival, Parade, and Car Show

This Saturday, October 13th, will be the Exeter Fall Festival, Parade and Car Show.  Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to meet up with John Dillon, Saturday morning 7:30 AM, at the old Porterville trailer center on the corner of Highway 65 and Linda Vista Avenue.

Cruise Night

Here is just a friendly reminder that the Rollin’ Relics Monthly Cruise Night will be happening this Friday evening at the Pizza Factory in Porterville at 5:00PM.  All classic cars, trucks, hot rods and motorcycles are welcome.  I hope to see you there.

Calvary Chapel Car Show

This is just a quick reminder about the Calvary Chapel Car Show this Saturday, September 29th.  Those interested in going to the show are encouraged to meet at the Chevron station on Highway 65 going towards Visalia at 7:00AM.  The car show is in Visalia at the Calvary Chapel at Avenue 264 and Mooney.

Weekend Events

The Lunch Box Diner has invited Rollin’ Relics members to bring their classic cars down on Sunday, July 15th at 6:30 PM.  They will have a band, and members will get discounts on burgers and receive free drinks.  The Lunch Box Diner is on East Olive, Ave. just past Westwood.

July Calendar
